What do you need to join?

Only verified businesses can bid. Sellers know who they deal with, and you know every other bid also comes from a checked car business.

  • KvK registrationAn active Chamber of Commerce registration with car trading as an activity.
  • RDW company stock recognitionYour recognition and company stock card (bedrijfsvoorraadpas), so bought cars can be transferred straight into your company stock.
  • VAT numberFor correct invoices, for margin-scheme and VAT cars alike.
  • BOVAG (optional)Not required. If you are a member, we show it on your profile.

How does bidding work for dealers?

  1. Verify your business

We check KvK, VAT number and RDW recognition. Then we can invite you to bid.

  2. Review the car and the deadline

Your invitation shows RDW data, odometer verdict, mileage, the seller’s description and the deadline for your bid.

  3. Place one sealed bid

Other dealers do not see your bid, and you do not see theirs. Until the deadline you can only raise or withdraw your bid.

  4. The seller chooses

After the deadline the seller chooses a bid and accepts it, or declines them all. Either way you hear it by email.

  5. Contact, payment and transfer

After acceptance you get each other’s contact details. You pay the seller directly by bank transfer, never cash from €3,000 (Wwft), and transfer the car together.

FAQ from dealers

What does Sell Your Car cost for dealers?

Nothing during the pilot. Bidding and an accepted bid cost you nothing. Subscription pricing will be announced before launch, and you always see it before you subscribe.

What details do I need to sign up?

Your KvK number, your VAT number and your RDW company stock recognition (bedrijfsvoorraadpas). BOVAG membership is not required, but we do show it on your profile.

Who else bids on a car?

Only other verified dealers invited for that car; no private persons take part. Every bid is a sealed bid: you do not see the amounts of others, and they do not see yours.

When do I get the seller’s details?

As soon as the seller accepts your bid. Until then you see the car, but not the seller’s name or phone number. After acceptance you both get each other’s contact details and arrange the handover together.

Can I pay for a car in cash?

Not from €3,000. Since 1 January 2026, traders may not pay or accept cash of €3,000 or more, split payments included. Through Sell Your Car you pay the seller directly by bank transfer. Read more about the cash ban.

Can I remove or change reviews?

No. Reviews only come from buyers and sellers with a completed deal. You can reply publicly to each review once. That keeps reviews trustworthy for everyone.
