Depreciation year by year: Citroën C1

A Citroën C1 loses 3.2% a year on average. Measured on 10 cars for sale on 29 October 2026 (built 2019–2021).

Depreciation by year of the Citroën C1
YearCarsAsking priceNew priceValue keptDrop per yearMileage
2021*3€10,750€15,40066%–57,500 km
2020*3€8,450€13,90061%−7.8%58,500 km
2019*4€8,950€14,30062%+1.4%79,500 km

Median per year. New price: what the car cost new in the Netherlands, the RDW catalogue price (incl. VAT, BPM and factory options, without delivery costs). For cars imported used: the Dutch catalogue price of that version. Value kept: asking price divided by the car’s own new price. Drop per year: value kept against the next newer year; a plus means that year asks relatively more. Older cars have more miles, which is part of the drop. * Fewer than 5 cars: indicative only. Asking prices, not sale prices.

Buying safely: how to avoid problems

  • Seller: never share the tenaamstellingscode (registration code) before the payment has arrived. Buyer: only pay once you have seen the car, the registration card and the full code together, and do the transfer together (€13.10 in 2026, online with the RDW or at a licence plate counter).
  • Since 1 January 2026 dealers may not accept cash payments of €3,000 or more, not even split into parts. Between private persons it is still allowed.
  • Preferably pay by instant bank transfer. Keys and papers change hands only once the money is visibly in the account.
  • Be wary of a price far below the market, time pressure, or a seller who only wants to chat or won’t show the car.

Run the scam check · Calculate transfer costs

Have the car inspected before you buy

According to the ANWB a pre-purchase inspection costs €150 to €350. If the seller refuses an inspection, keep looking.
