Who buys a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

The C-Class is Mercedes’ business mid-sizer and one of the most popular used cars in its segment: BMW’s 3 Series and the C-Class are the two classic choices. The W205 (2014–2021) is widely available as an ex-lease Estate, often as a plug-in (C 350 e, C 300 e). The W206 (from 2021) has a large portrait screen and plug-ins with long electric range.

Buyers are business drivers, families after a comfortable Estate and fans of the coupé and cabriolet. With the plug-in, the battery, charging cable and road tax count; since 2026 road tax is based on the full weight. With older diesels, buyers check the emission class. AMG Line, Multibeam LED and a tow bar raise the price. Use the net proceeds tool to see which channel nets most.

FAQ about the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Is a C 300 e still attractive used?

Yes, for people who charge at home. The W206 C 300 e covers over 100 km electrically on the WLTP cycle, so daily trips often need no petrol. Full road tax on its high weight is a cost to consider.

Which C-Class is most in demand?

The C-Class Estate with AMG Line, as a C 180/200 or plug-in. A W205 is the affordable choice; a W206 is more modern and more expensive.

Can an old C 200 CDI enter low-emission zones?

Only if it is Euro 5 or higher. Early W204 diesels may be Euro 4; those cannot enter Amsterdam, Utrecht and Arnhem in 2026. Check with the low-emission zone check.
